Here is our Ridley Aquafeeds team who all play important roles in getting the job done

Chris Clarke

Chris is the Operations Manager for Ridley Aqua-Feed and has been with the company since 2000. He has a strong manufacturing background and as well as Aqua-Feeds Operations Manager, he runs three other Ridley Sites in Wacol, and Townsville and Northam in WA

Richard Smullen

Aqua Feed Technical Manager

Dr Richard Smullen has been in the aquaculture industry for the last 15 years. After his PhD on Shrimp Broodstock Nutrition he was a post doctoral researcher and lecturer at The Institute of Aquaculture, Stirling University. After leaving the academic environment Richard worked for BioMar - the third largest fish feed manufacturer in the world, as the Technical and Product Development Manager. Since October 2003, Richard has been the Technical Manager at Ridley Aqua-Feeds.

Gary Hoey

Production Manager

Gary is in charge of the entire production site and as such the production teams all report to him. He has been at Ridley Aqua-Feed “since they drained the swamp” in 1985 when the site was with previous owners.

Debbie Riddel (sitting) and
Cathy McGillivray

Debbie is the Office Manager at Ridley Aqua-Feed and has been part of the team since 2000. She heads up the office administration and accounts and is also in charge of production planning. Cathy is our Customer Service Administrator and liases with freight contractors. Many will recognise her Kiwi accent and is the first point of call for all customer needs.

Ray Winkle

Laboratory Manager

Ray joined Ridley Aqua-Feed in 1994 and runs the laboratory where all the QC is conducted. After such a long time inspecting raw materials and finished product he knows good and not so good product and keeps the production crew on their toes with regard finished product quality.

Administration Assistant

Kylie is our Administration assistant and has over 13 years of customer service experience from organisations such as Essilor Laboratories. At Ridley she is responsible for the day-to-day office administration tasks although she is often referred to as the Logistics Co-ordinator as much of her time is spent booking transport and liaising with drivers.

Mark Porter

Technical Account Manager

Dr Mark Porter is the Technical Account Manager for Ridley and provides expert technical assistance to customers on all matters relating to aquaculture and research. Mark relocated to Australia in 2002 following his PhD and post Doctoral studies into the hormonal mechanisms of fish that effect growth and maturation which he completed in 1996. He has 18 years research and commercial experience in aquaculture and continues to support research in the salmon, tuna, kingfish and barramundi industries throughout Australia.

Erwin Calip

Production Engineering Manager

Erwin has an extensive production engineering background, with over 17 years working in plant operations within the Aquafeed industry. As the Production Engineering Manager for Ridley his role is to implement strategies that improve production and develop the technical skills of the production team.

Tom Fox-Smith

Tom Fox-Smith

Quality Assurance Supervisor

Tom is a graduate of University of Tasmania where he obtained a BSc majoring in Aquaculture (Hons) and for 2 years before he joined Ridley Aqua-Feed in 2004, he worked in the nutrition laboratory at the university.

William McConnell

Warehouse Supervisor 

William (Bill) has been working for Ridley Aqua-Feed since 1995 and is in charge of warehousing and raw material storage and logistics.   In his time off he can often be seen cutting the grass around the site.
